A piece of home
I’ll be back in Germany in just under a month. I don’t even know where to start. The last few months have felt like…
My name is Barbara, I’m 20 years old, and I’ve finally finished school. Now, something completely new is beginning for me: my voluntary service in South India!
I live with my parents, three sisters and cat here in Germany. In my spare time, I love playing basketball and I’m also a member of a club. I also enjoy reading and doing activities like ‘paint by numbers’, and I’m always keen to try new foods.
I’m setting off at the start of September to help out at Capron Hall Higher Secondary School for Girls for ten months. I’ve been interested in India for a long time, so I was thrilled when I saw that EMS also has a placement there. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to spend this time at a girls’ school. I can’t wait to meet the girls and teachers, experience Indian culture, language, food and traditions, and get to know the many different people.
I’m full of anticipation, and I hope to be able to tell you more soon!
See you soon!
Barbara
