Holidays at the ARI
Hello everyone, I hope you’ve all had a good start to the New Year! Here at ARI, we had a lovely time over the…
My name is Smilla, I’m 19 years old, and I currently live in Sersheim, a small town about 45 minutes’ drive from Stuttgart. However, I will soon be heading to Japan for ten months to study at the Asian Rural Institute (ARI). The ARI focuses on teaching people from all over the world about organic farming.
As a volunteer, my role will be to support the community, for example by cooking or helping with the farming.
I’ve known for a long time that, once I have finished my studies, I will follow in the footsteps of my eldest sister and go abroad with EMS. She was in India a few years ago and her stories and photos really made me want to go abroad with EMS, too.
I’m now really looking forward to meeting new people, exploring Japan’s landscapes, and having an experience that will have a lasting impact on me. I’m setting off as early as next month!
Take care, and I’ll see you soon with more updates from Japan!
